Laxne

Laxne is beautifully situated by the long, narrow Klemmingen lake about 17 kilometres north of Gnesta. During the winter, the population is just over 140 people, but here, too, increases considerably when the summer visitors arrive.

Lake Klemmingen is perfect for swimming and boating. During the summer, many tourists and summer residents like to come here, especially canoeists. During the winter, when the ice lies thick, the lake is part of a highly popular long-distance route for skating enthusiasts.

The narrow rift valley and Marviken lakes are one of our finest canoe routes. Enjoy the dramatic landscape either on foot or from the water. In the little village of Skottvång, iron ore was mined from the 16 th century until as late as 1920. Today, tourists can visit the 19th-century village, with its forges, changehouse and machine house.
